What are pleasers?

Pleaser is probably one of the best known brands when it comes to special high heels for pole dancing. With an almost infinite selection, it is not easy for a woman to choose a pair. Maybe this is the reason why most polerinas have more than just one pair of Pleaser shoes on their shelves?

Pleasers are (affectionately, not derogatorily meant) also called stripper shoes (quote Pantera Blacksmith). This describes that the shoes used for dancing at the pole are more than just simple high heels. They have a few special features that may be inconspicuous at first glance, but are essential for dancing with high heels at the pole.

Why is the Pleaser brand so popular with shoes?

The exact brand from which Pleaser was created is from the USA and is called PleaserUSA. The brand history is over 20 years old. During this time, the Pleaser brand has managed to become a synonym for pole dance shoes. Shoe style with that certain something of eroticism, exoticism and self-confidence, that's what Pleaser stands for with each of its models.

To walk well (better than you would expect at first!) with these shoes, they have some special features:

• The height of the plateau makes the angle of the foot not quite as strenuous
• The plateau is cut in the front part of the sole, which allows the foot to roll to a certain extent when walking
• The heel tilts slightly inwards so that it's directly under the heel, this prevents foot pain and makes it easier to balance

Which pleasers to start with?

In the beginning you will feel as much at home with your shoes as with your first pole dance outfits. What do we mean by this? Experience shows that when you order your first pair of Pleasers, you are a bit reserved when it comes to color, patterns, heel and platform height. And it is a little bit of a trip into a new world. So the first steps with the Pleaser shoes are not always easy because they are unfamiliar. So you are not doing anything wrong at all when you fall back on a pair of the classics. But you will soon notice that you will feel much more comfortable in the shoes than you thought and then it is probably time for the next pair ;-) In the beginning you should choose a low to medium platform height, this makes it easier to get started.

Which Pleaser for Poledance?

Poledance with High Heels is not only Poledance with High Heels. What do we mean by that? Many polerinas have the opinion that training and dancing at the pole is always identical, once with shoes and once without. But this is'nt true. In fact the shoes are an additional weight you have to carry and you have to integrate them into your training.

To avoid scratching or damaging to the poles, we recommend you to start with simply designed classics (see above: Pleaser Allure, Pleaser Aspire, Pleaser Adore), which look beautiful, come in countless colors and combinations, and still have no "scratching" elements. Especially if you want to train with the shoes in a gym, talk to the trainer before, which Pleasers are allowed and which ones not. If you train at home for yourself or are simply looking for great and extraordinary shoes to go out in, you can of course throw all these concerns overboard. How to train with Pleasers?

A professional trainer will explain to you how to walk correctly with the shoes, which movements you have to pay attention to and where the shoes can be a valuable help. Some movements (shoulder roll with long legs) are even more comfortable in high heels, because then you don't have to drag your toes along the floor when putting on your legs.
